Ihrem Unternehmungsgeist war es zu verdanken, da\u00df aus dem Gasthaus Schmoll das Hotel Rheinischer Hof wurde. Ihr Leben bestand aus Sorge um die Kinder nach dem fr\u00fchen Tod ihres Mannes.<br \/>Zweimal Witwe, es reichte ihr &#8211; obwohl es an Freiern in einem solchen Betrieb nicht mangelte. So lernte ich sie kennen. Unsere gegenseitige Zuneigung war nicht gro\u00df, aber wir haben uns trotzdem immer gut verstanden. Ich war es ja schlie\u00dflich, der ihren Plan zerst\u00f6rte; ihre Hoffnung, da\u00df Dina einmal ihr Werk im Rheinischen Hof fortsetzen w\u00fcrde, ging nicht in Erf\u00fcllung.
